NWS ATL says we'll see warm and humid conditions through Saturday with some scattered afternoon showers and thunderstorms, although nothing severe is forecast.

A cold front moves across the area Saturday night into Sunday morning, bringing widespread rainfall of maybe half an inch, if we are lucky. Drier, cooler conditions are on tap for most of next week.

For those headed to sunrise services Easter morning, take an umbrella with you. And Easter egg hunts may have to be done indoors Sunday afternoon.

We need the rain.

Have a Blessed Easter Holiday.

Maybe a chance for a passing shower Tuesday night into Wednesday morning, but nothing of significance. Spring has just sprung, and it will feel like summer moved right in at times.

The path continues with damage to a small outbuilding before reaching Ellerbeetown Rd where some additional tree damage was noted. The track continues eastward towards the intersection of McCard Rd and 74 where additional tree damage was observed as well as some minor
structural damage to a home. After crossing Womble Creek, the
tornado uprooted trees along Thurston School Rd before continuing east where it caused some minor tree and outbuilding damage near the intersection of Butts Rd and Pickard Rd. Estimated Peak Wind: 75 mph
Path Length /statute/: 1.65 miles
Path Width /maximum/: 100 yards

Injuries: 0

Start Date: 03/16/2026

A weak velocity couplet was detected on radar northwest of the
intersection of Grays Chapel Rd and Grady Pennyman Rd at 7:20 AM. The storm tracked to the east, with a tornado debris signature (TDS) appearing at 7:24 AM over Grays Chapel Rd. Two trees were uprooted along the road, and four trees were snapped at their tops before the circulation moved over a densely wooded area. By 7:26 AM, the velocity couplet had weakened and was located over Israel Creek east of Grays Chapel Rd, although the TDS persisted due to lofted debris. The damage in this area was limited, but enough to indicate a brief touchdown.

Official graphics of paths will be posted once NWS US National Weather Service Peachtree City Georgia gets those completed.

Some FYI...Outdoor warning sirens are tested 1st and 3rd Wednesdays at 1 pm, weather permitting.

We NEVER test sirens during cloudy days, nor do we test them during severe weather. If you hear them at any time other than the appointed Wednesdays, they are doing what they are designed to do: warning you of a tornado approaching our area. There are 33 sirens located throughout the county. Each of them has a range of about 1/2 to 1 mile radius. That radius of sound is diminished when heavy rain and strong winds compete with the sirens' sound.

Your best bet for having timely notification is 2-fold: 1) a weather radio for your home, 2) some form of electronic notification, like our mass notification system or a weather app on your phone. FEMA, American Red Cross, and various TV stations offer free apps.
