HISTORY
The Thiensville Volunteer Fire Department Corporation (TVFDC) was organized in 1961 (Thiensville Fire Department Incorporated) as a charitable civic organization to support the Thiensville Volunteer Fire Dept (TFD) by raising funds for fire and EMS equipment and vehicles. It was made up of active and former TFD first responders, their family members and community members. The corporation’s
charitable efforts have saved taxpayers hundreds of thousands of dollars over their many years of faithful service. TODAY
Though the Thiensville Volunteer Fire Department no longer exists, due to the merger that created the Southern Ozaukee Fire Dept (SOFD), the Corporation has chosen to continue its efforts to support area first responders, the community at large and work to maintain the history of the Thiensville Volunteer Fire Department. Today, the TVFDC meets quarterly and does a significant amount of fundraising throughout the year. In addition to ensuring there are funds available to continue to support our local first responders, the TVFDC is passionate about maintaining the history of the Thiensville Volunteer Fire Department. Their biggest fund raiser for years to come is focused on the maintenance/renovation of the Historic Firehouse and the maintenance of the 1935 Seagrave Fire Truck located at the northeast corner of Main Street and Green Bay Road. Some examples of the fundraising activities in the past included:
o Annual Pancake Breakfast with Santa. o Supporting the Suburban Harley Block Party and other Harley events throughout the summer. o Supporting the annual Thiensville Blues Fest in September. brat fry)
