With August coming to a close, we’d like to take a moment to recognize two of our officers as we celebrate their work anniversaries with our department.

Thank you both for your dedicated service and commitment to our community. We appreciate all you do!

School is back in session starting this week and next week - Please remember the stopping rules for school buses. Illegally passing a stopped school bus is a very expensive ticket and a very dangerous decision to make!

E-BIKES: Safety - popular for commuting, exercise, and recreation, but their growing use has been linked to a sharp rise in injuries. Between 2017 and 2022, U.S. e-bike injuries more than tripled.
*Know your bike’s class and speed limits and where you can ride (e.g., Class 1/2 on bike paths; Class 3 on roads)
*Wear a helmet — even if not legally required, a properly fitted helmet is critical. For speeds above 20 mph, use a DOT-certified helmet
*Stay visible at night or in low light with lights, reflectors, and bright clothing
*Follow traffic rules — ride in designated bike lanes, obey speed limits, and be aware of vehicles.
*Avoid speeding — even pedal-assist can make control harder at high speeds
*Inspect your bike regularly for tire pressure, brakes, and lights.

Please be familiar with e-bike classes and what is legal and not in WI.
Remember that no bikes (e-bike or regular bike) are allowed on the walking path in Village Park.
E-bikes are allowed on the Interurban Trail, pending they are class 1 or 2 and trail etiquette is followed.

Knowledge is the first step in following law and safety rules!
