School District #564
Thief River Falls Public School District #564 is spread over three counties covering 470 square miles and serves a population of approximately 14,000 people. It is the largest school district in the northwest corner of the State of Minnesota. Enrollment in the district is approximately 1900 students in grades Pre-K through 12 and the Area Learning Center. The district consists
of an elementary school (Challenger), a middle school (Franklin), a high school (Lincoln), and an alternative education program (Northwest Area Learning Center). and end at 3:00-3:04 p.m. each day depending on the school students attend. Most students are provided bus transportation. Hot lunch and breakfast programs are offered in all schools. The student calendar is set by the School Board each school year with classes traditionally starting the day after Labor Day in September and ending in early June. The district employs 175 certified teachers and an equal number of support personnel. District support services include:
