Have you heard of a "stomach bug" going around? It’s probably Norovirus, a highly contagious virus that spreads quickly and easily through close contact and contaminated surfaces.

πŸ•’ Symptoms usually start 12-48 hours after exposure and include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and stomach pain. Most people recover within 1-3 days.

Tips for Recovery:
- Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of liquids, especially those with electrolytes.
- Get lots of rest.

Help prevent the spread:
-Wash your hands often and thoroughly** with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. Hand sanitizer alone does not work well against norovirus.
- Clean and disinfect surfaces immediately after vomiting or diarrhea using a bleach-based cleaner or a solution with at least 5-25 tablespoons of household bleach per gallon of water.
- Wash contaminated laundry using hot water and dry on a high heat setting.
- Stay home if you’re sick, and wait at least 48 hours after your symptoms stop before preparing food, handling food, or caring for othersβ€”especially if you work in places like restaurants, schools, or healthcare facilities.

Stay proactive to keep yourself and others healthy!

What is NOPAIN MN?

To reduce Minnesotans’ reliance on opioid prescriptions to treat chronic pain, MDH has partnered with Hennepin Healthcare System to launch NOPAIN MN – a comprehensive, searchable public resource that maps the locations of non-opioid pain management providers across the state. The map Includes providers of psychotherapy, acupuncture, yoga, massage therapy, chiropractic care, physical therapy, and more.

The NOPAIN MN map highlights services that have been demonstrated to reduce chronic pain and improve quality of life. As alternatives to using opioid prescriptions for pain management, these often-underused options can provide effective treatment with no risk of substance misuse.

Visit https://nopainmn.org/ for more information.

This website map of Minnesota is designed for anyone to find evidence-based non-opioid and non-pharmacological pain treatment methods, options, and qualified providers throughout the state.
