Kick off your Halloween with a spooky good time at BTNEP's Paddle the Estuary: Bayou Pierre Part, Halloween edition! Join us on Saturday, October 31, 2026, at 8 am for a 10-mile or 5.5-mile paddle along Bayou Pierre Part and its surrounding waterways! BTNEP is teaming up with Nicholls State University and the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries for a beach sweep at Elmer’s Island in honor of the Ocean Conservancy’s International Coastal Cleanup Day! To round out our Management Conference tomorrow, we’ll have Darrel Rivere, President of the Heart of the Atchafalaya Museum, and Beryl Gomez, Board Member & Grants Manager for the Museum. They will share how the Museum team is working to preserve Cajun/Acadian culture, our local history, and the wildlife, water, and landscape of the Atchafalaya Basin.

Meet us at the Morgan City Municipal Auditorium at 9:30 am, and don’t forget to stick around for lunch!
