The Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950, Section 13 Article 1881 established the office of City Marshal and reads, “The Marshal is the executive officer of the court. He or she shall execute the orders and mandates of the court and in the ex*****on thereof, and in making arrests and preserving the peace, the Marshal has the same powers and authorities of a Sheriff.”

ion of Marshal Calvin Cooks, Sr., the mission of the Thibodaux City Marshal's Office is to provide professional Law Enforcement services to the public by maintaining order and protecting life and property. The primary responsibilities of the Thibodaux City Marshal’s Office include Municipal Court Security, Warrant Ex*****on, Prisoner Transportation, Civil & Criminal Process Service to include Subpoenas, Citations, Judgments, Garnishments, Repossessions and Evictions. In addition to these services, the Thibodaux City Marshal’s Office provides assistance to Local, State and Federal law enforcement agencies as needed, as well as providing security as needed to local citizens and businesses.
