Update for Lafourche Parish residents: at this time, no reports of confirmed tornadoes despite multiple warnings. No widespread reports of power outages. The flash flooding threat appears to be the primary threat at this time. We are getting reports of water possibly in homes in Raceland. Street flooding is possible as rain continues to fall. It’s best to remain indoors and sheltered at this time. For those needing to head out for work this morning, please use EXTREME CAUTION on streets and highways. DO NOT drive through standing water. As water approaches homes, driving through standing water on local streets can push water into homes. Please call 911 if you are in need of emergency assistance. Call LPSO at 985-532-2808 for non-emergencies such as reporting damage.

Today, June 15, 2026, Marshal Calvin Cooks, Sr. visited the students attending the ELearning Academy Thibodaux Summer Camp and, of course, he came bearing some cool treats! 😋

During his visit, Marshal Cooks spoke with the students about the important role and responsibilities of the Thibodaux City Marshal's Office. He also discussed the serious issue of bullying, encouraging students to treat others with kindness, respect, and compassion.

The students asked lots of great questions during the visit. However, several of them also decided to report Mommy and Daddy for speeding! 🚔

Fortunately for the parents, no citations will be issued today but Marshal Cooks reminded everyone that the little ones are always watching and paying attention!

🫢 "Out of the mouths of babes!" 🤣

Investing in our youth today helps build a stronger community tomorrow.
