Nan Gray Davis Elementary Nan Gray Davis School was organized in 1965. It is named in honor of Miss Nan Gray Davis. In 1921, she came to teach at Theodore High School. W.

Miss Davis began her career as an elementary teacher in Escambia County. In introducing her to the faculty, Principal F. Breitling, with whom Miss Davis had previously taught, made this prophetic remark, "For serveral years we have had quite a turn over in teacher personnel, but now I think we have a teacher who will stick". And "stick" she did for thirty-five years. When Miss Davis retired in 195

8, she continued her passion for teaching, always finding a child to coach, the maid or yardman with an educational problem, a Sunday School class in need of a teacher, or someone upon whom she could bestow the blessing of her teaching. After she was stricken with a heart attack, she taught lessons of patience, courage, hope and faith to those who ministered unto her. The gentle soul of Miss Nan Gray Davis passed away on January 30, 1963. Miss Nan Gray Davis' influence and love of teaching and learning still lives on at Nan Gray Davis.

📚 Attendance Matters Initiative

Every Day. Every Student. Every Opportunity.

Our Attendance Matters Initiative is designed to encourage students to attend school every day and arrive on time. Every school day is an opportunity to learn, grow, build relationships, and become a successful Bobcat!

🎯 Our Goal

Increase daily student attendance and reduce chronic absenteeism by making being at school something students are excited to celebrate.

⭐ How It Works
Monday–Thursday: Students attend school each day and arrive on time.
Friday Reward: Students who have been present Monday through Thursday may come out of uniform on Friday according to school guidelines.
Students will be recognized throughout the year for excellent attendance and improved attendance.
Classes and grade levels can participate in attendance challenges and celebrations.

💙 What a Wonderful Start to the School Year! 🐾
We have had an absolutely wonderful first two days of school, and we are so excited about all that this school year holds for our students! We are grateful for the support, patience, and partnership our families have shown as we begin another great year together. We can’t wait to see what our students accomplish! 📚✨

🚗 Beginning Tomorrow: Normal Morning Carpool Procedures
Beginning tomorrow morning, we will return to our normal morning carpool procedures:
• Parents will not be permitted to enter the building to walk students to class.
• Parents should use the the carpool lane in the front of the school.
• Please follow the directions of our staff members as you move through the carpool line.
• Do not drive away until you are directed to do so by a staff member. This is extremely important to help us maintain a safe and orderly arrival for all students.

We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we work together to make arrival as smooth and safe as possible. Thank you for partnering with us to keep our students safe! 💙🐾
