🌡️🌧️ The Texas weather outlook for the next week shows that cooler-than-normal temps are likely in the Panhandle (40–50%) and North Central Texas (33–40%). Much of the rest of the state is expected to see near normal conditions, while Far West Texas, South Texas, and coastal areas have higher chances of above normal temperatures (see left map). Rain chances are up statewide, with above normal precipitation expected across Texas (see right map).

TWDB’s Water Weekly: The latest drought map for conditions as of June 2 shows drought contraction of seven or more percentage points for the second consecutive week. This week’s drought contraction was driven by improvements in South and West Texas and has reduced the total drought area in the state to its smallest extent in 2026. https://bit.ly/TexasWaterWeekly

TAKE THAT! 💥

We’ve got the secret to easily, safely and effectively fighting w**ds.

For safety and environmental reasons, more and more gardeners are steering clear of chemical w**d control. A simple vinegar-based solution provides a powerful alternative.

Ingredients:
1 cup household salt
1 tablespoon dish detergent
1 gallon distilled vinegar.

ProTip: Increase the potentcy by using hi-strength vinegar, available at most home and garden stores.

Mix ingredients together (warming the vinegar helps dissolve the salt), load up a spray bottle, and have at it.

Choose a sunny, windless day to apply. ☀️

Sunlight aids in drying out the w**ds, and calm weather prevents unintended contact with neighboring plants (just like Roundup, this solution is non-selective).

If this solution doesn’t kill the root at first, just reapply and target the root zone directly for thorough eradication.

❗️2026 Hurricane Season❗️

What The Woodlands Needs to Know 👇

Forecasters with NOAA’s National Weather Service are predicting a below-normal hurricane season for the Atlantic basin this year.

NOAA’s outlook for the 2026 Atlantic hurricane season, which runs June 1 to November 30, predicts a 35% chance of a near-normal season, a 10% chance of an above-normal season, and a 55% chance of a below-normal season.

Two competing forces are shaping the outlook: above-average Gulf water temperatures, which fuel storm development, and a developing El Niño, which increases wind shear and suppresses activity.

Depsite the slightly below-average forecast, we shouldn’t let our guard down. As we well know here in The Woodlands, it only takes one storm.
