The board, is a returning board , except for new member, Ty Strong as Master at Arms, he was nominated and voted and elected at the installation.

The club had a traditional NWCA installation. The installing officer was National Parliamentarian, Zachary Horning, we appreciate his service to our club.

We also initiated three new members who happen to be the daughter and granddaughters of club secretary,Maureen Short. It was an absolute delight to see their Grandmother/Great Grandmother,Mrs. Nancy Perry, PNP initiate them as members to #316. (alongside ,Maureen Short as their sponsor.)

It is with great honor that Mrs. Nancy Perry ,recipient of a lifetime membership into #316 was awarded .

“Installation ceremony is a significant event; it affirms commitment to NWCA’s values and direction and continues the officer’s leadership and vision. Installation should be a renewed call to action for all members.”

Yesterday, the members of #316 “Officially” draped the Club Charter for sister member, Kathy Trittschuh.
We raised our cups, of coke a cola and shared stories of Kathy.

We had a great business meeting. Worked on The Call to National Convention, collaborated on ideas to boost our membership, holiday schedule and the passing of the Club President project, more on that later.

Today, a beloved member of The Villagers, Mrs. Kathy Trittschuh was laid to rest at Barrancas National Cemetery on NAS Pensacola.
It was attended by Kathy’s family, friends and NWCA members. Between 50 to 60 were in attendance.
A beautiful tribute to Kathy by a family friend, minister officated the service. Kathy’s children and family members spoke. Music selection of Elvis, Alan Jackson, scripture readings.
Then Kathy treated us all to a long procession with a police es**rt where both sides of the road were stopped.
Once at the gate to NAS Pensacola, in the pouring rain military at the gate and the police es**rt got out their vehicles and gave a salute..to my friend.
Kathy was a member of NWCA for 58 years. She loved this organization and she loved The Villagers #316.
You will see an unofficial draping of the Charter. The club will be doing an official draping in The Villages before National Convention.
PNP,Brenda Mindermann and The Villagers Club President laid a white Hydrangea, which signifies Purity and New Beginnings .
Club Master at Arms and VFW post 7909 Chaplain said a few words about “No plot on this cemetery is paid for, it has to be earned !” That includes a spouse who volunteered 58 years of service.
Kathy loved her Cola drinks, anywhere we went together she needed one.
We gave 2 cola soda’s not Pepsi,Coke a cola, for her children to toast to their beloved mother.
The Villagers #316 was very honored to be invited and part of this beautiful goodbye until we meet again.

Each year on August 7th, Americans pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who were either wounded on the battlefield or paid the ultimate sacrifice with their lives. The Purple Heart is awarded to any member of the United States Armed Forces that has been wounded or died as a result of a wound in battle. This now includes those persons who died in captivity while a prisoner of war. We now celebrate Purple Heart Day on the anniversary of its inception, August 7th. On this day it is our patriotic duty to remember and recognize those people willing to serve our country, no matter the price.
