Monday, September 7th is Labor Day! The Link Public Transit Service will operate on its Holiday/Weekend schedule that day. Here's what you need to know for the holiday:

• Dispatch Office: Closed
• Dial-a-Ride Service: Not running

Transit closures coming up for Juneteenth this Friday! CAT runs weekend services, The Dalles between Hood River runs weekend services, and all other services will be closed.

😊🍒🍰😢There were smiles, cherries and cake to celebrate on Friday, but we are sad to have said goodbye to two members of The Link Public Transit team. Jesus Mendoza (left) served as Transportation Operations Manager for the past five years and Casey Ruiz (right) has been a driver at The Link for the past ten years! Thank you, Gentlemen! Field Supervisor Laura Reed, (center) as well as the rest of the staff, wish them all the best.😊

Riding to work from 5-Mile in the cool morning is nice, as long as The Link can take you home in the heat of the late afternoon!

📢 Important Service Announcement from The Link Public Transit 📢

Due to projected funding reductions following the outcome of Measure 120, The Link will be implementing service and operational adjustments effective July 4, 2026.

Like many transit agencies across Oregon, we are facing financial challenges related to stagnant or reduced available funding. To ensure the long-term sustainability of our services, the following changes will go into effect:

🔹 South Wasco County Shuttle: Service will be reduced from two days per week to one day per week, operating on Tuesdays only.
🔹 Office Hours: Operations will transition from a seven-day schedule to Monday through Friday only. (Regular bus service will continue on the weekends without change.)

We understand these changes impact our riders throughout the community, and we remain deeply committed to providing safe, reliable, and efficient transportation to the greatest extent possible.

🚍 Heads up, Columbia Gorge Express riders! Due to the McCord Creek Bridge replacement project on I-84, we are experiencing significant delays on Fridays and weekends, with occasional impacts on weekdays. Construction is expected to continue through the fall.

If you are traveling to the airport, making timed transit connections, or catching the final Link bus to The Dalles, please plan ahead:

⏱️ Expect delays and give yourself plenty of extra travel time.
🚌 Take an earlier bus whenever possible to avoid missed connections.
🚗 Have a backup plan for transportation just in case.
