The Dalles-Wasco County Public Library The Dalles-Wasco County Public Library was founded in 1910.

After outgrowing its original Carnegie library location, it moved to its new home on Court Street in 1966 and has been there ever since. :)

🌋🏠 Family Preparedness Series Two is Coming to the Library! 🌧️⚡

Would your family know what to do during a wildfire, earthquake, severe storm, or other emergency?

Join us at The Dalles-Wasco County Public Library for our next Family Preparedness Series, where children and families will learn practical, age-appropriate skills to help them stay safe and prepared when unexpected situations arise.

👶 Preschool: 10:30–11:15 AM
📚 K–3rd Grade: 11:30 AM–12:30 PM
🧭 4th Grade & Up: 11:30 AM–12:30 PM

Participants will explore emergency preparedness through engaging activities, discussions, and hands-on learning designed specifically for their age group.

Family STEAM Night: Make Your Own Ice Cream is Thursday, June 11th, at 6:00 PM at the Dalles Library. It'll be outside on the deck. Hope to see you there!

Join us on Monday, June 15th from 2–5 PM for a fun and hands-on class all about preserving fresh strawberries! Learn how to safely can, dehydrate, and freeze our local bounty.

Registration is required and space is limited, so be sure to sign up early!
