From severe weather and flooding to extreme heat and other hazards, knowing what could affect your community is the first step toward being ready.

β˜‘ Know the risks: Check the hazards most likely to affect where you live.
β˜‘ Create a plan: Know evacuation routes and where to shelter.
β˜‘ Stay informed: Identify trusted sources for emergencies and weather information.
β˜‘ Sign-up for alerts: Register for local emergency notifications at bit.ly/DCEverbridge.
β˜‘ Be self-reliant: Maintain an emergency kit with enough supplies to support your household.

When we take responsibility for our own safety, we can help reduce the burden on first responders and allow them to focus on those who need help most.

In our very first episode, Brant Shallenburger sits down with Mayor Richard Boyer and City Manager Troy Powell to break down how The Colony runs. Think of it like a board of directors and a CEO working together for YOU.
