We want to make our community aware of a phone scam involving a spoofed City of The Colony phone number. Scammers are falsely claiming to be Chief Phillip Foxall in an effort to deceive residents.

Please remember:

Chief Foxall from The Colony Police Department will NEVER call to ask for personal information, demand payment, or make threats about arrest or immigration status. These calls are fraudulent.
If you receive a suspicious call like this, hang up right away. You can report it by calling our non-emergency line at (972) 625-1887 or visiting us in person.

What is a spoofed number?

Spoofing is when a scammer fakes the caller ID to make it appear the call is coming from a trusted source like a city office or police department. In reality, it’s a scammer trying to trick you into giving up personal information or money. This tactic is meant to make the call seem legitimate and increase the chances you’ll answer or respond.

Let’s stay vigilant and help protect each other—please share this information with friends and family!
