South Bronx United provides opportunities for local youth to grow as leaders, scholars, and athletes

South Bronx United is a youth development organization that uses soccer to engage community youth and support the South Bronx community. We serve over 800 boys and girls aged 4-19 combining recreational and competitive youth soccer with academic enrichment, college prep, mentoring, health and wellness promotion, leadership development, immigrant legal services, and other social services.

It’s the last day of summer before students head back to school! What an incredible summer it was! 🌟 💙

Over five weeks, our young athletes took learning to the next level by putting their problem-solving and critical thinking skills into action to design creative solutions for real-world athletic challenges. Beyond the pitch, they learned to collaborate, innovate, and lead, proving that when you empower youth with the right tools, their potential is limitless.

Wishing our friends the best of luck as they kick off their EFL season today! A couple weeks back, our Summer Campers were able to learn from two brilliant International Young Leaders from the Wrexham AFC Foundation. They were joined by Wrexham legends Steven Fletcher and Mickey Thomas! In a summer full of highlights, it was a day we won’t ever forget! Ymlaen Wrecsam!

What a day 😮‍💨 Team Orange are our 2026 Summer Soccer Scholars Color Cup Champions! Despite valiant performances from Red and Green throughout our Field Day activities, Orange’s lead was unassailable. Our friends Design FC came through with a special surprise too: new kits co-designed by SBU Academy student-athletes last summer!

We’ve got our final field trip today—to Six Flags 🎢. Then, a shot break before the calendar restarts with the fall semester. Thank you everyone for a truly unforgettable summer!
