What a Great Summer!!
It has been a great summer in Alpine with all the successful events that went on. Starting off the spring thaw with our Alpine Easter Egg hunt at the Alpine Civic Center. We had over 250 children that participated in our hunt of over 2500 eggs with the Easter Bunny helping out. There were prizes for every child that participated with a few extra grand prizes.
This year we had the return of the Great West Antler Rendezvous in mid May which took place at the Greys River Cove RV Park located behind the Tavern on the Greys. Many things that were seen were tons of raw antlers/shed from moose, elk, and deer with some made into lamp, chandeliers, furniture, jewelry, knifes & more. The Town Clean up also happened in May with many volunteers that assisted.
Mountain Days was the weekend after Fathers Day and was a wonderful event. The opening ceremony was done by American Legion Post 46 and Colter Byers singing the National Anthem. At the Pioneer Village located in front of the Three River Motel, the Mountain Men Encampment brought you back in time (pre 1800) by doing demos during the day such as churning butter, beading and so much more. The Morning Star Dancers provided entertainment and a glimpse of their culture with dances, singing and stories. Music was provided by Alpine Music with Jen Ryan & Upstream. For the second time this year, there was the Mountain Man Triathlon which had many contestants braving that swim, bike and run race. There was also a community picnic sponsored by the Morning Star Baptist Church had free hotdogs and music provided by the Crown of Thorns. There were arts & crafts, food booths, raffles and many other activities that everyone enjoyed.

The Fireworks display, located at the Greys River Cove was put on by the Town of Alpine, Banana’s Sporting Goods and crew. As always the display was amazing with a wonderful night to enjoy the view.

The headquarters of this event was at the Donn Wooden Civic Center. Each summer the H.O.G (Harley Owners Group) travel to different locations throughout the United States. The 2015 Wyoming State H.O.G. Rally will be in Sheridan.
The 11th Annual Car Show was August 23rd located at the Donn Wooden Civic Center. Even though the weather did not corporate, there were still some very impressive cars. The Great Out West Elk Antler Rendezvous will be here Monday, May 12th thru Friday, May 16th, 2014. This event will be held in the Greys River Cove RV Park which is located behind the Tavern on the Greys. To catch the full event, things you can expect to see at the Alpine show all week are tons of raw antlers/shed from moose, elk, and deer. There are also, on occasion, some fallow deer or red stag used for art, bison skulls, beautiful furs and legal bighorn sheep skulls to pick from. A lot of these items will be made into lamp, chandeliers, furniture, jewelry and knifes. There will be wildlife art like you have never seen, either made of antlers, wood and even bronze. It will be the biggest event of its kind.
We also welcome antler pickers and shed finders to this event. Bring all those antlers you have been kicking around the shop or the piles of antlers building up. There will be many top vendors who will buy them at the top market value prices. If there are any antlers connected to the skulls, please make sure they are tagged from the local Fish Wildlife and Park and there should FWP officer on hand to check in your rack. Only animals with skull plates or on head mounts need to be tagged. Shed antlers need not apply.
This will be a big show and you may want to spend a couple of days looking at everything, enjoying the beautiful Town of Alpine and everything it has to offer. Don’t forget that it is spring time in the Rockies so dress accordingly.
