Attention Residents:

We have contracted with a company named Hydro-Klean to clean the sanitary sewer. This will improve the sewer's performance and significantly reduce the chance for future sewer backups and related problems.

The cleaning process causes a vacuum in the sewer. This will not affect most homes, but some homes may be affected that have inadequate or partially blocked drain vents. The vacuum may cause "P-traps" (the little S shaped bend under sinks and drains) to be sucked dry. Should you notice a sewer smell resulting from this, run a little water in your drains to refill the P-traps. It is recommended that you PUT THE TOILET SEATS DOWN AND COVER FLOOR DRAINS WITH CAR MATS ON THE DAYS YOU ARE SCHEDULED. This will minimize any possible splashing of the P-trap water. You will get a door hanger from company stating when its your scheduled time.

Improvements to our utility billing software has added the ability to send out bills via email instead of "snail mail". This improvement will allow your bill to be received in a more timely manner and reduce the City's postage expenses. Ordinance #13-216. Discharge of vegetation, dirt, waste, trash or other debris.

(a) It shall be unlawful for any person or persons to throw, rake, deposit, dump, drop, spill, or discharge any dirt, compost, waste material, litter, trash, leaves, grass, weeds or other debris upon any city street, sidewalks, alleys, parks or other public right of ways of the city. This shall specifically include the discharge of grass clippings or other mower discharge. The owner of any property is responsible for any activity upon his or her property which causes said discharge.

(b) Any person found in violation of this section shall, upon conviction thereof, be fined in a sum not to exceed Fifty Dollars ($50.00).

In observation of the federal holiday (Juneteenth) the City Office will be closed on Friday 6/19/26. While closed, utility bills can be paid online or payments can be put in the drop box located on the northwest corner of the office building.
