Texline EMS and the City of Texline have become aware of statements made by the Director of Stratford EMS during a recent Hospital Board meeting. We would like to address these comments directly and put any community concerns or rumors to rest.
There is no truth to the statements made by Stratford EMS Director, Mr. Lanning, regarding Texline’s state inspection. We have been actively working with Mr. Lanning and our DSHS State EMS Representative to correct the erroneous information stated during this meeting.
To be clear: Texline EMS underwent its routine state inspection on Friday, May 15th - which is standard for all EMS providers every couple of years. We are proud to report that we passed with flying colors, with zero deficiencies, fines, or sanctions. In fact, Texline EMS has maintained a perfect record with no deficiencies, fines, or sanctions across multiple inspections dating back nearly a decade under current administration.
As always, Texline EMS remains committed to providing the highest level of care through continuous improvement. Recent accomplishments include:
* All EMS volunteers completed a comprehensive 40-hour refresher course last year, featuring hands-on skills training and the latest educational and treatment updates.
* The addition of a new Paramedic to our roster with the successful licensure advancement of Tasha Coulter, which required 1,300 hours of education and 500 hours of hands on clinical and ambulance experience.
* Approval and award of a grant for a new ambulance and equipment, expected to arrive within the next 18–24 months.
Texline EMS is deeply proud of our dedicated volunteers and the quality of service we provide to our community. At a time when many rural EMS services are struggling or closing, we continue to thrive and improve. Our Medical Director, EMS leadership, and entire team remain committed to maintaining the highest standards of training, personnel, and equipment to best serve the residents of Texline.
