The Texas City Mexican American Police Officers Association would like to express its support for Clay Pope as the next Chief of Police for the Texas City Police Department.

During his past 18+ years tenure with the Texas City Police Department, he excelled through the ranks to become the Administrative Captain. While doing so he exhibited
professionalism, honesty, integrity and gained the confidence of his fellow officers both within the agency and surrounding agencies.

Captain Goetschius honorably served the citizens of Texas City for 36 years, demonstrating unwavering dedication and professionalism throughout his career. During his tenure, he led and supervised the Criminal Investigation Division of the Texas City Police Department, where he was a steadfast advocate for victims’ justice.
TCMAPOA firmly believes that Captain Goetschius remains committed to upholding the oath he took and continuing his service to the community. His leadership reflects a dedication to ensuring that every resident of Texas City has a voice and is heard.
