We have officially kicked off our 2026 campaign! 💛

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Campaign Kickoff Luncheon as we celebrated the incredible work happening throughout Galveston County Mainland and looked ahead to another year of making an impact together.

A special thank you to Kim Ronan with Valero Texas City Refinery and Angelica Hanley with M. I. Lewis Social Service Center for sharing their perspectives and helping us highlight the impact of community partnerships.

Mary Ellen Doyle has a special place in the history of UWGCM, and we’re proud to see her and Chuck celebrated on their 70th wedding anniversary!

Mary Ellen served as the first female president of United Way Galveston County Mainland. Her commitment to serving others continues to inspire us, and we are proud to honor her through the Mary Ellen Doyle Volunteer of the Year Award, which recognizes outstanding volunteer service in our community.

Congratulations to Chuck and Mary Ellen on 70 years of marriage and on all they have done to make our community a better place! ❤️

🍕 Back-to-school season comes with a lot to carry: supplies, meals, transportation, and all the little things families manage behind the scenes.

This month, participating Pizza Hut locations are helping support that local work. For every special meal bundle purchased, Pizza Hut is donating $2 to United Way.

We’re grateful to our local Pizza Hut partners for supporting students, families and neighbors as a new school year begins!

We were so happy to meet with the United Way of Galveston board and staff for our first Board Exchange. It was a great opportunity to learn more about one another, share ideas, and strengthen our partnership as we continue serving communities across Galveston County. A big thank you to everyone who joined us for today's Quarterly Agency Meeting! We truly appreciate our partner agencies taking the time to connect, share updates, and collaborate as we continue working together to strengthen our community.

A special thank you to Community Health Network for providing an excellent presentation on their Elevations platform and the many valuable services they offer. We appreciate your partnership and your commitment to expanding access to healthcare and supportive resources throughout our community.

Meetings like these remind us that when organizations come together, we can learn from one another, build stronger partnerships, and make an even greater impact for the people we serve.

Our Breeze Through the Summer program is helping local seniors and individuals with disabilities stay safe and comfortable during the summer heat. We've already delivered fans to community members in need, and we're happy to continue providing this resource while supplies last.

We still have a limited number of fans available for eligible Galveston County Mainland residents ages 60 and older, with priority given to individuals with disabilities in this age group. If you or someone you know could benefit from a fan this summer, we encourage you to reach out before they're gone.

Members of our Board of Directors were honored to represent UWGCM at this week's First Responders Salute Luncheon.

It was a privilege to join our community in recognizing the dedication, courage, and selfless service of the first responders who are there when we need them most. We are grateful for all they do to keep our communities safe and strong.
