🌧️⚡️ When storms change our plans, we PIVOT!

Due to the current storms and in an abundance of caution, we moved our training class to virtual training today. These dedicated volunteers did not hesitate to keep going. Their commitment to advocating for children is already shining through, and we can’t wait to see them in action! Nothing can stop these future CASA advocates! 🌟

What a great evening at the ballpark! ⚾️

Last night, our CEO, Connie, and Board Treasurer, Marc, had the opportunity to represent CASA of Galveston County at the Astros game as guests of Landry’s. David Sanders of the San Luis Resort team joined them in the pictures. Although our Astros did not win, it was still a wonderful evening filled with networking, great conversations, and delicious food.

We’re grateful for opportunities like these to connect with community partners who help support our mission!

Help us congratulate our June advocate of the month, Linda! 🥳
Linda was just sworn in last month, but she has already made an incredible impact as an advocate. She has caught on quickly and is doing an amazing job bridging communication between CPS and the kinship parent while consistently advocating for the needs of both the children and kinship parent. Linda stays in regular contact with all parties involved, communicates professionally and effectively, and keeps her supervisor updated. She is timely with her documentation and thorough in her notes, ensuring everything is documented appropriately. Her dedication, initiative, and heart for advocacy make her very deserving of Advocate of the Month. Congratulations, Linda! Thank you for jumping right in!
