Today we remember what being a firefighter and a first responder is truly about. We honor all those who gave their lives selflessly that day, to save others who were in harms way. We pray that nothing like this ever happens again and we pray for the safety of all our first responders. Never forget.

Congratulations to Firefighter Michael Cigainero for completing his probationary period! Michael had the honor of his wife, Mary, to pin his badge.

We would like to congratulate Assistant Chief James (Jim) Wall on his graduation from the Executive Fire Officer (EFO) Program at the National Fire Academy. This is a multi-year Nationally recognized program in which, since its inception in 1987, there have only been roughly 4,800 graduates from. With only 38 being from Arkansas. It is one of the highest honors one can reach in the Fire Service.

Last week, our Local 502 sent two of our members as counselors to Camp Sunshine in Little Rock.

Camp Sunshine is a free four-day residential camp for pediatric burn survivors. Entirely funded by the Arkansas Professional Fire Fighters and organized in partnership with Arkansas Children’s Hospital, this camp provides a safe, supportive, and fun-filled environment for some truly inspiring kids.

Daniel Thiels and Nathan Reeves represented our local and department with pride, spending their week alongside a truly remarkable group of children and fellow firefighters from across the state of Arkansas.
