🧡 Thank you to everyone who helped us kick off Hunger Action Month with our annual Hunger Action Luncheon. And thank you to our guest speakers, Mayor Bruggeman and Mayor Brown, and our special key note speaker, Arkansas State Representative Carol Dalby for their heartfelt remarks and call to action!

Each year, we recognize some of the pantries, volunteers and organizations who help us bring the fight to hunger. Congratulations to all of this years award recipients and thank you to all of our partners in hunger relief across southwest Arkansas and northeast Texas. 🫶🏻

🧡🍽️ Harvest Texarkana Regional Food Bank Kicks Off Hunger Action Month! 🍽️🧡

Harvest Regional Food Bank launched National Hunger Action Month on Tuesday with its annual Hunger Action Luncheon at Williams Memorial United Methodist Church — bringing together volunteers, sponsors, partners, and local leaders to shine a spotlight on food insecurity across our region.

Harvest CEO Camille Coker Wrinkle reminded attendees why this month matters: “Both Texas and Arkansas have some of the highest rates of food insecurity in the nation… These are our neighbors; the people we live with, work with, and attend school with.”

A BIG thank you to the employees of Domtar Ashdown Mill for their $5,000 sponsorship of our Backpack Food for Kids program and their donation of backpacks and snacks for our childhood hunger relief efforts.

We also want to thank the Domtar Foundation and Tammy Waters for nominating Harvest Regional Food Bank to receive a $2,000 grant to help us provide additional childhood hunger relief to the community this upcoming school year.

Over the past 12 years, our friends at Domtar-Ashdown have donated over $70,000 in support and helped us send nearly 1,000 students home with food every weekend of the school year!!

‼️ Important Information:
✔️ Check-in inside the Fellowship Building (behind the church).
✔️ After check-in, return to your vehicle and line up in the church parking lot for further instructions.
*Limits: One box per household, with a maximum of two households per vehicle.
**Required Documents: Bring a photo ID and proof of address to verify Howard County residency.
