One day my sons made a request of me; We want your degree if you want ours! In 2009 I enrolled in our local community college to start my journey towards my Nursing Degree. In 2011, I received my LPN Certification and was already making plans for my RN Degree. Life however, had other plans. Two weeks after my graduation, I had a slip and fall accident that changed my life forever!
The road to recovery was both humbling and frustrating. My sons worked and tried to maintain our household to no avail. We had to relocate. Paying high rental deposits took most of my money. Renting a moving truck was not an option, I had bad credit and I didn't have the money to pay for it either. I can't even begin to remember how many hoops I had to go through just to be turned down. Our friends Young and old gathered their resources and helped us move. There were things that I left behind because I ran out of time. You know how it goes, 'My car, My rules!' A few Mirrors got broken and T.V.'s were dented but most of our stuff made it in one piece.
While I was nestled in my new apartment feeling sorry for myself, I noticed a pattern with the Single Mothers and Disabled Persons in my complex: They had the same problems that I had! The Blue Rose Experience was born! Ten years after my accident, I found my purpose! With a background in Case Management Services, I knew that I could help. I could advocate for my clients and ease the some of the frustration during the relocation process! We are looking forward to working within the State of Arkansas!
For those of you that don't know me, My Three sons are my Blue Roses. They have inspired and challenged me on many occasions! I am forever grateful for them; Life wouldn't be the same if we never stopped and smelled the roses!
