20 Deployments. Countless Hours. One Mission.

This week, the Massachusetts Telecommunicator Emergency Response Taskforce (MA TERT) reached an incredible milestone: 20 deployments since our inception.

What began as an idea to support our fellow telecommunicators during their most difficult moments has grown into a statewide network of dedicated professionals who answer the call when agencies need them most.

Over the past 20 deployments, MA TERT members have:
✅Provided staffing relief following line-of-duty deaths and other critical incidents.
✅ Allowed dispatchers to attend funeral services, debriefings, and take the time they needed to care for themselves and one another.
✅ Traveled across the Commonwealth, often with little notice, to support agencies during some of their hardest days.
✅ Demonstrated the true meaning of professionalism, compassion, and service.

These deployments represent far more than a number. They represent hundreds of volunteers, thousands of hours of coverage, and an unwavering commitment to ensuring no communications center has to face tragedy alone.

To every MA TERT member, Team Lead, participating agency, and the families who support our volunteers, thank you. Your willingness to step up for one another continues to make this program a success.

As we mark our 20th deployment in Northborough, we remain committed to the mission that started it all: telecommunicators supporting telecommunicators.

Here's to the next 20. 💙📞

Did you know we’re on the TikToks (that’s what the kids are calling it…right?)

We post more *silly* videos, but still have some with an educational ✨flare✨. We’ve even had a few videos go viral (whatever that means…)

🎇 We have one Fourth of July request...

Please don't make Monday's office conversation start with:

"So... funny story about my finger..."

Fireworks might look fun, but they can cause life-changing injuries in a split second. They also start fires, damage property, and are illegal for personal use in Massachusetts.

Leave the fireworks to the professionals, keep a safe distance, and enjoy the show with 10/10 fingers still attached.

Your future self (and your coworkers) will thank you. 🇺🇸

We don’t condone breaking the law to get a message across…

…but we do appreciate a good public safety reminder.

So we decided to make a few banners of our own. 😄

Swipe through for a few things dispatchers wish everyone knew before calling 911.

🇨🇦 Happy Canada Day to our neighbors to the north!

While we're answering 9-1-1 calls here in Massachusetts, dispatchers across Canada are doing exactly what we do every day—remaining calm under pressure, helping callers through emergencies, and making sure responders get where they need to go.

Emergency communications may have different patches, different accents, and maybe even different spellings (😉), but the mission is the same.

Here's to all of our fellow telecommunicators in Canada. Thank you for everything you do, and have a fantastic Canada Day! Eh?
