The outdoor warning siren test is scheduled for 1:00 PM today.

This test takes place on the first Wednesday of each month and helps ensure the system is operating properly if it’s ever needed.

Sirens are designed to be heard outdoors, though it’s not unusual to hear them indoors as well.

Atmos Energy crews and contractors will be in the area conducting routine safety surveys of the natural gas distribution system using mobile leak detection units to identify and map methane leaks. Residents may see white SUVs with flashing lights and Atmos Energy or “Utility Contractor” markings driving slowly through streets and alleys, including at night, to ensure accurate surveys.

If a leak is detected, crews will investigate and grade it, with hazardous Grade 1 leaks addressed immediately and Grade 2 and 3 leaks monitored and repaired according to state and federal guidelines. City officials and first responders have been notified of this activity.

The Take Me Home Program is designed to help our officers better assist individuals who may have difficulty communicating or who may become disoriented during an emergency.

This voluntary program allows families and caregivers to provide important information about individuals with autism, dementia, Alzheimer’s, developmental or cognitive disabilities, or other conditions that may affect communication.

Information provided through the program can help officers quickly identify an individual, understand their needs, contact a caregiver, and respond in a way that helps create a safer and more positive interaction.

If you have a loved one who could benefit from the Take Me Home Program, we encourage you to get them registered!

A little information ahead of time can make a big difference when every minute matters.

Help us help them get home safely.

The Terrell Police Department is actively investigating a theft that from Academy Sports + Outdoors. At this time, the suspects have not yet been identified. While the investigation is ongoing, any assistance from the public is greatly appreciated.
