Guys Who Give Clay County

Guys Who Give Clay County Guys Who Give Clay County is a philanthropic group designed to provide financial support to local charities.

Members of Guys Who Give meet on a quarterly basis to nominate, advocate and select a nonprofit organization to collectively support. Each member agrees to donate a total of $500 per year of membership. The first $100 is added to the Guys Who Give Endowment fund in the Community Foundation. The remaining $400 is used to support the four nonprofit organizations selected throughout the year ($100 at

each meeting). Here's how it works:

Each member can put his name and the name of an organization he would like to have considered in a drawing at each meeting. Three members' submissions will randomly be selected to give a 5 minute presentation advocating for their agency, followed by 3 minutes for questions. At the end of the presentations, members will vote on which organization they would like to see funded. The organization with the most votes will be announced as that quarter's grant recipient. Each member will then make a $100 contribution to the selected organization. Once an organization has been selected, it is not eligible for funding for 2 years. Note: To be eligible for consideration, the organization must be a 501(c)3 or government entity. Nonprofits affiliated with religious organizations are eligible as long as the services address a societal need and are not restricted based upon religious affiliation. Only nonprofits that serve Clay County are eligible. Controversial and political nonprofits will not be considered. .

Congratulations to our third grant recipient of 2026, the Clay County Council on Aged and Aging! Also referred to as the senior center, this organization offers many resources, including meals, social activities, a library, medical equipment lending, and a food pantry. The senior center relies on the support of community members, like the Guys Who Give. The group is looking to make some foyer upgrades, buy a fridge for the pantry and buy a commercial coffee pot. This grant will help with these improvements to better serve our community and local seniors!

Congratulations to our latest grant recipient, Bowling Green Old Settlers Reunion, Inc. The members selected this nonprofit as the second-quarter winner. The group is working to improve the town square. Some of these projects include new lighting, electrical line burial and safe walkways. We also want to thank Brazil Main Street and Amplify the Arts for speaking about some of the great things being planned for Route 40 Fest in September.
