In the evening hours on June 4, 2026, Vigo County Sheriff's Deputies responded to numerous calls for service in the New Goshen area regarding a female subject reportedly approaching residences, entering onto private property, and attempting to gain access to homes and vehicles.๏ฟฝ
Throughout the investigation, deputies received multiple reports from concerned citizens regarding a woman going door-to-door seeking shelter and attempting to enter occupied residences without permission. During the course of the investigation, deputies learned the suspect had entered a residence without authorization after observing an opportunity to access the home through an open doorway. The homeowner later discovered the suspect inside the residence and ordered her to leave.๏ฟฝ
Deputies also investigated an incident involving a motorist who reported the suspect entered the roadway, causing the vehicle to stop. The suspect then allegedly opened the vehicle door and attempted to gain access to the occupied SUV. The driver, who was traveling with two young children, immediately drove away before the suspect could enter the vehicle.๏ฟฝ
As deputies continued their investigation, additional reports were received regarding the suspect's attempts to approach or enter other residences in the area. Deputies located the suspect and observed behavior consistent with impairment. The suspect later admitted to recent illegal drug use.๏ฟฝ
