PARENTS: Every Day Is the Right Day to Talk About Alcohol and Drugs with Your Children.

Talking with your children at an early age about drinking and drug use is the first step toward keeping them safe.

For tips on how—and when—to begin the conversation, visit www.underagedrinking.samhsa.gov

Talk. They hear you.

It is important for parents and caregivers to harness the power of the people and resources in their communities to prevent underage drinking and other drug use.

Your community members can play a major role in supporting the health, wellness, and wellbeing of youth.

Do you have 5 minutes to complete a survey on community perceptions of homelessness?

rb.gy/cwyw6x

This Spring, the Lotus Center has partnered with senior social work students from ISU to complete community projects for their Macro Social Work Practice Class. One of these groups of students has focused their project on changing community perceptions around homelessness. This group has created a survey that will help inform their project. If you have 5 minutes to take the survey linked, this will help us to build an educational campaign for the community.

The Lotus Center is trying to gather more information on the public’s knowledge on unhoused people and issues they face.

The Lotus Center would like to extend a HUGE thank you to Grace Spencer and Eagle Scout troop 6. Grace chose to support our agency when selecting her Eagle Scout project. Her team installed 4 additional new shelving units to our pantry space and totes to organize it all in. They also put together "Welcome Home" cleaning supply kits for all 42 tenants of our permanent supportive housing program Mullen Flats. Thank you Grace and Eagle Scout troop 6!!

The Lotus Center would like to thank the Saint Benedict soup kitchen for going above and beyond this week to provide hot lunches to everyone that is staying at our warming center. We couldn’t provide this much needed service without the support of our community and groups like St Benedict Church! Thank you!
