Remote Online Notary update: California has not yet authorized its notaries to conduct RONs, however the California Secretary of State recently issued guidance that RONs conducted in any other state in compliance with that state's law will be recognized as valid under California law, thereby eliminating a potential hurdle to the legal recognition of documents notarized using RONs conducted by out-of-state notaries.
