Hello all! It's Fireworks season!

There are 2 places to buy fireworks in Tensed Now. One in front of The Hangman Creek Market & Smokeshop and the other in front of The Circle H.

Above all, safety first. The designated area to light off fireworks in Tensed is at the basketball court. Please be mindful of your surroundings before lighting them off and its always a good idea to have a bucket of water nearby.

🔥 Attention Idaho! It's and Closed Fire Season has been Extended 🔥

Weather and fuel conditions have warranted extending closed fire season statewide. This means burn permits are required until further notice to help us manage fire risks and prevent wildfires.

As resources decrease this fall, it’s more important than ever to follow fire safety measures. Escaped debris burning is the number one cause of preventable fire on state and private lands in Idaho.

History

In the early 1970’s, a group of area residents recognized a need for better fire protection. At the time we had one Army truck and a 1949 Chevy pickup. They organized a Fire Protection District that became the Tensed Rural Fire District. Area residents took classes and became volunteers. During those times, whenever there was a fire call there were always plenty of trained volunteers who would arrive to handle the calls. At that time, there were many small farms with plenty of help who they could count on to be available for a fire call. Today, we find that the small farms are now part of larger farms and the area residents work out of the local area and are not available like they used to be. We need a new wave of volunteers to step forth and become a part of “neighbors helping neighbors.”
