Kindergarten stations are officially up and going! Our littlest Leopards are learning, exploring, working together, and building independence one station at a time!

✨Our students jumped into their first art rotation of the year, and they were ready to create!

🌈 Kindergarten & 1st Grade took inspiration from artist Paul Klee, exploring lines, color, shapes, and playful designs to create their own unique artwork.

〰️ 4th & 5th Grade experimented with different types of lines before turning those lines into imaginative landscapes and creative designs. From bold and curvy to zigzag and straight, they showed just how much a simple line can do!

We’re loving the creativity, curiosity, and individuality our young artists are bringing to the table!💛🎨

Off to a Great Start in STEM at Lakewood Elementary!
Our students just wrapped up their very first STEM rotation, and they had an absolute blast diving into the world of robotics with Sphero indi! 🤖✨
Shaped like a friendly race car, Sphero indi is an entry-level, screenless educational robot designed to introduce our young learners to basic coding, computational thinking, and cause-and-effect logic. By placing colorful tiles on floor mats, students learned sequencing and problem-solving through hands-on play—all without needing screens or reading skills!
Highlights from our first rotation:
• Cause & Effect: Learning how different tile colors command the car to speed up, slow down, turn, or stop.
• Sequencing & Logic: Designing pathways from start to finish and troubleshooting when the car took an unexpected turn.
• Teamwork: Collaborating in small groups to test routes, share ideas, and celebrate successful code runs together.

3rd graders got a chance to go to The Lakewood Book Cafes to try some new delicious books. Each student was able to taste different titles within genres to see what fits them best as a reader. They practiced their skills of previewing book and talking about what they notice.
