City of Temple To Hold A Public Information Open House
For P.I. No. 0019883
Carroll County
On July 13, 2026, at the William Simmons Administration Building, 240 Carrollton Street, the City of Temple and the Georgia Department of Transportation will hold a Public Information Open House concerning the project listed above.
The proposed project consists of a 5-foot-wide sidewalk extending from US Route 78/State Route 8 to Temple Middle School and Providence Elementary School in the City of Temple, Carroll County, Georgia. The project also includes several sidewalk spurs and connection routes.
The proposed sidewalk would begin on Carrollton Street, just south of US Route 78/State Route 8, at an existing sidewalk connection. From there, it would continue north along Sage Street, cross the railroad tracks at-grade at James Street, and then follow West Johnson Street northward. At Rainey Road, the alignment would turn east and continue until reaching Temple Middle School and Providence Elementary School. Additional connections are proposed along Rome Street from West Johnson Street to Rainey Road, along Milner Street from West Johnson Street to Rome Street, and along Holder Street and Simmons Drive from Rome Street to an existing sidewalk.
All sidewalk facilities would be designed in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Right-of-way and easements may be required; however, these needs have not yet been finalized. The total length of the proposed project is approximately 3.05 miles.
The purpose of this Public Information Open House is to provide the public with an opportunity to view the project, ask questions, and comment on the project.
The Open House will be held from 3:30 pm – 4:30 pm. It will be informal, and the public is invited to attend at any time during these hours. There will be no formal presentation. There will also be time for the public to review materials and ask questions after the City Council Committees Meetings.
Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Information:
The meeting site is accessible to persons with disabilities. Accommodations for people with disabilities can be arranged with advance notice by contacting the City.
