The Telluride Housing Authority is seeking resident representatives from Shandoka Apartments, Sunnyside, Virginia Placer, Voodoo Apartments, and the Boardinghouse to serve on its new Resident Advisory Committee. The committee will provide a structured opportunity for residents to share concerns, discuss operational and policy-related topics, and help ensure tenant perspectives are integrated into Town decision-making processes related to rental housing. Members will meet at least four times per year and receive a quarterly rent credit for participation.

The Colorado Supreme Court today issued a unanimous decision in Kavanaugh v. Telluride Locals Coalition Petitioners’ Committee et al. (2026 CO 47, No. 24SC522), ruling in favor of the Town of Telluride and reversing the Colorado Court of Appeals. Writing for all seven justices, Justice Berkenkotter held that amendments to planned unit development (PUD) agreements are administrative, not legislative, acts and therefore are not a proper subject of the citizen initiative process under the Colorado Constitution.

The Town of Telluride has released the findings of an independent investigation conducted by Investigations Law Group (ILG) regarding former Mayor Pro Tem Meehan Fee’s involvement in discussions and negotiations related to a December 29, 2025, proposal to purchase a majority ownership interest in Telluride Ski & Golf Company (Telski).

The investigation was authorized by Telluride Town Council on January 20, 2026, and ILG was selected to conduct the review on February 6, 2026. The purpose of the investigation was to establish a clear factual record, distinguish between actions taken in an individual capacity and those taken through official Town processes, and support transparency and public confidence in local government.

No, we're not putting in an alpine coaster or a Summit Plummet water slide, what you're actually seeing up the hill is the Stillwell Fill & Drain Line Replacement Project which began in the fall of 2025.

The Town of Telluride is currently in the middle of a significant water infrastructure project along the hillside and Tomboy Road corridor, here's what you need to know.

Why this project is happening:
This past fall, the Telluride Public Works Department identified an emergency situation with a critical 10-inch water main serving the Stillwell system. The existing pipe, made of aging spiral-wound steel, developed multiple pinhole leaks in close proximity, threatening the reliability of one of the Town's most vital water delivery lines. That line services the storage tanks at the Cornet Water Treatment Plant, which plays a central role in potable water distribution for our community.

Rather than patch a failing system, the Town moved quickly to design and implement a full replacement, bringing in a third-party engineer and contractor to get it done right.

Where things stand today:
Construction is actively underway along the hillside and Tomboy Road corridor. Current work includes pipe relocation, material staging, contractor access coordination, utility locates, and traffic control. The Town is also in direct communication with residents in the affected area to keep neighbors informed and minimize disruption as much as possible.

Public Works is working closely with the contractor to ensure safe access throughout the corridor during construction.

What this means for you:
If you live near or travel through the Tomboy Road area, you may notice construction activity and some traffic impacts, including a closure tomorrow from 9 am to 6 pm. The Town is committed to keeping disruptions to a minimum and maintaining safe passage throughout the project.

We'll continue sharing updates as this project progresses. Thank you for your patience as we invest in the infrastructure that keeps Telluride's water system strong for years to come. 💧
