Communities Not Cages!

Let’s stop the expansion of mass detention of immigrants and dissidents!
Join Indivisible and other West Slope progressives and humanitarians in a nationwide day of action to oppose the Trump administration's expansion of ICE warehouse detention and its attack on the due process rights of immigrants and all Americans.

Schedule of events:
- 12 pm We will have a short rally hearing from impacted speakers & advocates.
- Please wear black & bring signs with some of the following focused messages: (copy & paste in your browser)
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Y1ppEttDCgSSUPFsm7qzPFz38YXYg1id02YhwxiZt0E/edit?usp=sharing

The Department of Homeland Security is moving to lock thousands of people in massive detention warehouses — separating them from their families, their lawyers, and their communities. We are taking to the streets to make it clear that we stand for kindness, compassion, human dignity, justice, and the rule of law.

We will gather to:

- Show visible, public opposition to ICE detention expansion and the criminalization of immigration
- Stand in solidarity with detained immigrants and the communities fighting to protect them
- Demand that our elected officials defend due process for everyone

Bring a sign. Bring your neighbors. Bring your voice. Keep showing up because IT DOES MATTER!
Thank you & see you out there, Montrose & Ouray Counties Indivisible

This action is part of the Communities Not Cages National Day of Action organized by the Disappeared In America campaign and partners, including Detention Watch Network, Indivisible, Public Citizen, The Workers Circle, MoveOn, and many others.

A core principle behind all Indivisible & Disappeared In America events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events.

March 28 is No Kings Day - No Thrones - No Crowns

The No Kings coalition is preparing to make March 28 the largest day of protest in US History.

Telluride Indivisible is collaborating with the sister chapter in Montrose for a protest at 1 pm on Saturday, March 28th at the old courthouse at 320 S 1st.
They feel that a record-breaking turnout in Montrose will be a very effective statement on the Western Slope’s stance on the Trump Regime.

Alternatively, the People’s March will be holding a march on at noon on the 28th, meet at the Courthouse.
Guest speakers for Telluride:
Susie St. Onge
Bob Beer.

If you have travel plans, there will be 1,000's of No Kings Events across the nation and the world.
Go to NoKings.org to find one near you.

As the president escalates his authoritarian power grab, the NO KINGS non-violent movement continues to rise stronger. We are united once again to remind the world: America has No Kings and the power belongs to the people.
