Franconia Friday — September 11, 2026

Today, Franconia Friday is a little different. Twenty-five years ago on this date, our nation was forever changed. It was a day that touched the lives of every American — including right here in Franconia Township. Families, friends, neighbors and first responders in our own community felt the weight of those cowardly attacks, just as communities across the country did.

On September 11, 2001, thousands of innocent lives were lost in New York City, at the Pentagon, and in a field in Shanksville, Pennsylvania. We remember each of them, along with the firefighters, police officers, paramedics, military personnel, and countless other first responders and ordinary citizens who ran toward danger to help others.

Twenty-five years later, we remember those who were lost, honor those who answered the call, and hold close the courage, compassion and unity that emerged in the days that followed.

We remember.
We honor.
We will never forget.

No business or government agency takes payment in cryptocurrency or bitcoin.

Do not make payment using gift cards to anyone other than the business on the gift card.

These are two very common scam techniques. If someone contacts you and wants payment in cryptocurrency or gift cards, it is a scam.
If they want to stay in the phone while you go to the bank or store, it is a scam.
No government agency will demand payment over the phone to avoid arrest.

We’ve received several reports of someone calling and claiming to be a Police Officer. They are telling people that they had missed jury duty and have a warrant. They say if the fine isn’t paid immediately, you will be arrested.

This is a scam attempt. No police department will require immediate payment over the phone. If you receive a call like this, hang up the phone and call your local police directly.
