Advanced Foods has been busy this week learning about vegetable pigments! They began the week experimenting on red cabbage and the science behind pigment sensitivity. They finished out the week testing how vegetable pigments can be used to dye fabric! Food science is awesome

Today, Tekamah-Herman Life Skills and Foods and Nutrition classes worked together to prepare their Thanksgiving feast! We started cooking at 9:45am and finished by eating it all together for lunch! One of the great joys of food is sharing it with others, a lesson I am sure this crew learned today.

This week, Life Skills classes at THS finished up their small unit on personal development. Within this section, they spent 2 days learning about the impact of stress and ways to relieve it. Class on Tuesday comprised of stress relieving exercises such as yoga, laughter, nature walks and much more!

The embroidery machine was out to play today in Life Skills! Students get the chance to personalize their projects with our embroidery machine purchased using Perkins Grant funds in 2019. This piece of fabric will eventually become a zipper bag!
