👉This just in from Cal-Trans District 2 Public Information Officer:

Bridge Joint Construction Work
On Interstate 5 at Cottonwood Creek Bridge

Caltrans District 2 and Golden State Bridge, Inc. are planning to start work tomorrow (December 14th) for continuing the repairs and replacement of the expansion bridge joints on sections of the Cottonwood Creek Bridge on Interstate 5 near the Tehama/Shasta County line. District 2 Maintenance crews previously performed portions of the temporary emergency operations at this location.

⭐️On Friday, December 17th at 7:30 a.m., these closures will go into place again and continue 24/7 until the bridge joint is replaced on the northbound #1 lane on the bridge. While this work will be completed as quickly as possible, these lane and ramp closures may last through the weekend.

Motorists should plan for lengthy delays on northbound I-5 in the area while this lane closure is in place and are advised to travel outside of these work times if possible. Information and updates can be found at Caltrans District 2.

Within the coming months, these same operations will take place on the northbound #2 lane, southbound #1, and southbound #2 lanes on the bridge. This work and scheduling are subject to change at any time. Thank you for your understanding as these vital repairs are made at the bridge location. Lake California Residents-
👉Tehama County Public Works will be applying pavement striping on Lake California Drive Wednesday, 12/1/2021, and Thursday, 12/2/2021. Residents can expect 20 minute traffic delays from 8 am to 4 pm on those days.
