We think we’ve gotten the winter messages across to all the reasonable adults.

So naturally, we consulted with our School Resource Officers to help translate this message into a language the youths can understand:

You drove earlier and said, “Roads are fine, honestly kinda mid. Like… 67”

Mother Nature said, “Bet” 😌

For real, for real, temps are about to drop into their villain era, and ice patches are spawning and tomorrow morning’s drive might be sus.

You might have 4WD, AWD, confidence, and main-character energy, but bestie… you 👏 cannot 👏 drive 👏 on👏 ice.

If you don’t need to go out, stay home, fam.
Warm. Safe. Unbothered. We’re not salty.

If you do drive:
• Slow down (this isn’t a side quest)
• Leave space (tailgating is sus)
• Brake early or your whip might get yeeted into a ditch

Tomorrow morning is not the time to test your skills, your luck, or physics.
Ice does not care about confidence or vibes.🤷‍♂️

Drive smart. Stay safe. Slay responsibly. We love you, Tega Cay 🫶

Hubert Graham Way and Shoreline Parkway are now open. Please continue to drive with caution, especially as temperatures fall below freezing tonight.

Slow down, increase following distance, and remain alert.

Our officers are exhausted after surviving Snowmageddon this weekend ❄️
When energy levels are low, the only logical (and highly professional) solution is a snow angel contest.

PLEASE AVOID TRAVEL

Road conditions are continuing to deteriorate as we move into the evening hours. Our officers have already responded to multiple vehicles that became stuck and several traffic collisions, clear indicators of how hazardous travel conditions are across our roadways.

The forecast calls for an additional 2–4 inches of snow, with snowfall tapering off overnight. Current temperatures are around 20°F, and when temperatures drop below 26°F, salt becomes ineffective for treating snow and ice. In these conditions, scraping roadways can significantly increase the risk of severe ice formation, making travel even more dangerous and unpredictable.

The following roadways currently have hazardous conditions and should be avoided:

Tega Cay Drive after Silver Gull Drive

New Gray Rock Road between Celandine Way and Bluebell Way

Tara Tea Drive

Tanna Tea Circle

Due to the very dangerous driving conditions on the hill at Shoreline Parkway and Beachwood Cove, Shoreline Parkway will be closed from Beach Club Lane to Chestnut Hill Drive. Residents who live within the closed section of Shoreline Parkway will still be able to access their homes. Please plan your travel so that you do not have to travel up or down the hill at Shoreline Parkway and Beachwood Cove Drive.

As night falls, visibility will be very limited, and the current conditions limit the ability to improve roadway conditions. Please avoid travel and continue to monitor updates. Your cooperation helps keep everyone safe, including first responders and Public Works.

What started as the Chief and Mayor sledding with the kids quickly turned into an all-out snowball ambush❄️

Officers may have called for backup and formed an alliance to air out some frustrations on Chief 😅

No, we will not be filing an incident report 😂

Community policing hits different when it snows ☃️❄️
