Zeke Burki and Jay Chaudhari competed at the National SkillsUSA Leadership and Skills Conference in Atlanta.

Zeke placed 12th in Action Skills - High School. In this competition, he displays a job skill. This year, he displayed the skill of a cheerleading coach teaching the basics of cheerleading to new cheerleaders. Each year, he has had to have a new job skill demonstration. This is his 3rd year in a row qualifying for and competing at Nationals.

Jay placed 7th in Extemporaneous Speaking - Middle School.

Each U.S. state and territory is eligible to send one competitor in each of 115 different career skill and leadership competitions. Some competitions are individual events and others are team events. All competitions have a high school division, and some also have middle school and/or college/postsecondary divisions as well.

Way to go Jack Waring! Two years in a row!

Another consistent season of low scores and high finishes has landed Johnson County Central’s Jack Waring his second straight KMAland Nebraska Boys Golfer of the Year award.

Jack Waring, a senior at Johnson County Central, competed at the 2026 NSAA Class C Boys State Golf Tournament held at Indianhead Golf Course in Grand Island May 27th & 28th. Jack is a two-time state individual qualifier.

Jack finish the tournament in 64th place out of 100 golfers. His two day total was 165.

On day one, Jack shot 86 (+14) on the par 72 course. On day two he shot 79 (+7). A highlight of his day two round was his first nine where he carded a one-under par score of 35 which included two birdies and only one bogey.

Congratulations on a wonderful season Jack!

Thunderbird State Track Day 2 of 2 update:

Harley Lubben placed 3rd in shotput with a throw of 40-02.25

Molly Weber placed 5th in the 100m with a time of 12.37

Molly Weber placed 5th in the 200m run with a time of 25.52

Trevin Huskey in the 1600m ran a time of 4:35.69 to beat his own school record.
