🔥 IMPORTANT FIRE SAFETY NOTICE🔥

If you haven’t been watching the news, there are wildfires starting in the areas around us, and conditions are becoming very dangerous.

As Chief of the Pink Volunteer Fire Department, I’m asking everyone in our community: PLEASE DO NOT BURN ANYTHING OUTSIDE for the next couple of days.

That means no burn piles, trash burning, brush burning, or outdoor fires. With these dry conditions, a small fire can quickly get out of control and put homes, property, and firefighters at risk.

Please help us prevent a fire before it starts. We appreciate everyone doing their part to keep our community safe.

Pottawatomie County enacts a 14-day burn ban effective immediately. Outdoor burning of trash and use of fire pits is prohibited.

Pottawatomie County has implemented a 14-day burn ban, prohibiting all outdoor fires, whether controlled or contained. Individuals found deliberately initiating fires may face citations from the sheriff's department and will be liable for any resulting damages.
