🌳 A Friendly Reminder About Our Park 🌳

Hello everyone!
We love seeing our community enjoy Johnny H. Williams Jr. Park (Teachey Park), and we want to help keep it clean, safe, and welcoming for everyone. Recently, we've experienced some issues with inappropriate use of the park restrooms and trash receptacles. Unfortunately, these situations create health and safety concerns for other park visitors.

We kindly ask everyone who visits the park to:

✅ Use the restrooms for their intended purpose
✅ Place trash in the nearest park trash can (typically located near the playground area)
✅ Ensure children are accompanied by a parent or guardian
✅ Treat the park and its facilities with respect

We'd also like to remind everyone that the park trash cans are intended for waste generated while visiting the park. Please do not dispose of household garbage or large bags of personal trash in these receptacles. These cans get overloaded, causing trash to fall on the ground.

We want to continue keeping the restrooms available for public use outside of office hours as a convenience for our residents and visitors. However, if these issues continue, we may have to limit restroom access to office hours only (Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.).

With a little help from everyone, we can keep Teachey's Park clean, safe, and enjoyable for the entire community. Thank you for doing your part! 😊

We want to extend a huge thank you to everyone who joined us for Movie Night this past Saturday! We had an amazing time spending the evening with our community and seeing so many families and friends come together! 🥳🎥🎬

A special thank you to Coastal Entertainment for helping make the event such a success with a fantastic movie experience. We are also incredibly grateful to the Teachey Fire Department for providing free hot dogs and drinks for everyone to enjoy. 🍿🌭

We'd also like to recognize our Public Works Assistant, Bryan, for his hard work in helping set up/clean up and prepare the park for the event.

Community events like this are one of our favorite ways to bring people together, and we appreciate everyone who helped make the night so memorable.

We are monitoring the weather and will post any updates here on our page. If you do not see a post that means the event is happening as scheduled!

Please remember to bring a chair! If you plan to bring a blanket to sit on you may want to bring a tarp or plastic to put under in case the ground is wet.

Free unlimited popcorn and hot dogs provided by the Teachey fire department (while supplies last)! We can’t wait to see everyone there!🍿🎬🌭

Here’s a special message from Mayor Bobby Jones announcing the results of our Movie Night vote!👨🏻‍🔧 🌠🪐🍄⭐️

A few important reminders:
• Please arrive around 7:30 PM to grab your snacks and get your blanket or chairs set up.
• Limited chairs will be available, so we encourage you to bring your own chair or blanket if possible.
• We’ll be providing unlimited free popcorn, hot dogs (while supplies last), and water — but feel free to bring your favorite snacks too!
• The movie will begin around 8:00 PM or once the sun goes down.

We can’t wait to see everyone there for a fun night together!

The Town of Teachey had a wonderful time hosting the Duplin County Municipal Association quarterly meeting last night!

A special thank you to Eric Southerland for Sheriff, Duplin County Sheriff-Elect, for serving as our guest speaker and sharing his vision for when he becomes sheriff later this year.

We would also like to thank MeMa's Chick'n & Ribs for providing a great meal for the event, and the Teachey Fire Department for allowing us to host the meeting at the fire station.

Lastly, thank you to everyone who attended. We always enjoy the opportunity to connect and collaborate with staff and leaders from communities across Duplin County!
