β€œIt is with sadness that we announce the passing of retired Knox County Sheriff Tom Spangler.

Sheriff Spangler was a servant. After serving our nation in the United States Air Force, he devoted his life to public safety, rising through the ranks of the Knox County Sheriff’s Office before serving two terms as Sheriff.

His decades of service left a mark on this agency and the people of Knox County. Today, we honor his service to others.

On behalf of myself and the entire Knox County Sheriff’s Office, we extend our deepest condolences to his family, friends, and all who served alongside him.

Rest well, Sheriff. Your service is complete, your legacy will remain.”

β€” Sheriff Brent Gibson

National Preparedness Month!

The Knox/East Tennessee Healthcare Coalition extends a special thank-you to the Amateur Radio Operators who support our healthcare facilities and strengthen our region’s emergency communications capabilities.

These dedicated volunteers provide operators for the monthly hospital radio net check, helping ensure equipment and communication procedures are ready when needed. They also teach Technician-level amateur radio licensing courses and basic Amateur Radio 101 classes to KETHC members, expanding our region’s knowledge and ability to maintain communications during emergencies.

Thank you for sharing your time, knowledge, and expertise to help keep our healthcare facilities connected and prepared!
