Well tomorrow is Election Day. Over the course of my campaign I have had the opportunity to meet and speak with many of our Claiborne County residents. This has been a true reminder of why I chose to add my name to the ballot this year. I love this county and the care and respect that our citizens have for one another. I want to thank everyone who has shown me and my family support along the way. I would also like to wish the other candidates the best of luck. It has been an honor campaigning with all of you. If you haven’t yet, please get out tomorrow and cast your vote. There are many good options for first district but I’d be honored if you would consider sending a vote my way!

How does it make you feel when you ask a question at a commissioners meeting, and you don’t get an answer? Well, if you’re anything like me, it frustrates you. This is why in late January I made the decision to run for a commissioner seat for the first district.

As I have attended the meetings for the past year, I am one of many tax payers in this county that when we go in front of the board and ask questions it seems like every time it falls onto deaf ears with no resolution or even a “hey that’s a great question, let me find out and get back to you”. It’s literally a verbatim text book answer that we get “okay moving on to the next item on the agenda”.

Like I have stated before, I am not the guy that will fill you with empty promises, but I can promise you this; I will be the voice for everyone. If you have a question, I will be sure to do my due diligence and provide you an answer.

This is why I am working on earning your trust to represent you to the best of my abilities. I am the candidate that would rather work with you VS against you.

Let’s not forget, Leadership is not a popularity contest.

As I dab my toes into politics. I can promise you this. Who I am today is who I will be tomorrow and who I will still be after the election. I will not fill you with empty promises, but I am here to make headway not headlines. As I go around the county talking to residents, I want everyone to know that I have been actively listening to understand everyone’s points of views and how I could help be the best advocate for everyone.

This screenshot was sent to me by a Claiborne county resident. I am grateful to see how people are realizing that I am here to help make a difference. This was last nights Monthly Commissioner meeting. Actions will always speak louder than words.

In the last two months. The Commissioner meetings have proposed a resolution for a Tax Freeze Program to assist the senior citizens of our county. Although I support this program, I do not believe that passing off the expense to others is the proper way to go. The reason that it did not pass is due to the workshop that was had to see the impact of this proposal.

In February, I spoke up and asked the questions of how will this be paid for, and what is the impact on the years to come? I feel by me asking questions, made our Commissioners think of the impact to the community and not quickly push to implement this due to it being an election year.

Now moving forward to last night. The proposal was put to a vote and it did not pass. The picture that was shared with me and now that I share with you can hopefully begin to show that I am not a "Yes" man. I am here to help make this community better for everyone.
