The Owaneco Fire Department is in need of volunteers!
No experience necessary, we will train you!
Make a difference and help your community.
Requirements are:
Be 18 years of age (15 for cadet program)
Reside within the Village of Owaneco or within the Owaneco fire district. ( if you are unsure, message us with your address and we can tell you!)
If interested please attend our open house on June 3rd at 7:00pm.

TFD is proud to be a local resource for AHA CPR certification for area businesses and the general public, offering classes the first Wednesday evening of every month.

A huge thank you to our local Taylorville-Walmart. Today, they stopped by to present us with a truckload of water, snacks, a microwave and a new vacuum cleaner for International Firefighters’ Day.

We are very grateful to have great partners in our community and we truly appreciate their support!

Today we recognize a proud moment for our department as Firefighter Jon Galloway graduates from the SWIC Fire Academy.

This achievement is the result of weeks of hard work, discipline, and commitment. Jon has put in the time, effort, and sacrifice it takes to meet the high standards of the fire service, and today that dedication has paid off.

We are proud to have him as part of our team and look forward to the impact he will continue to make serving our community. Congratulations, Jon, on this well-earned accomplishment.

* Until 1115 AM CDT.

* At 1045 AM CDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a
tornado was located near Jeisyville, or near Taylorville, moving
east at 40 mph.

HAZARD...Tornado.
