During the early morning hours Saturday, deputies with the Spencer County Sheriff’s Office assisted Shelby County deputies after an attempt to locate was issued for a vehicle involved in a theft in southeast Shelby County.

The suspect vehicle, a white Chevy Silverado operated by Wooldridge, was eventually located near Lake City Mart. Our deputies detained the suspect until Shelby County units arrived on scene.

During the investigation, stolen items related to the theft were recovered from inside the vehicle, along with a large quantity of suspected stolen construction materials connected to another Shelby County residence.

Wooldridge was lodged at the Shelby County Detention Center and charged with two counts of burglary.

Having proudly served in both counties, I’m grateful for the strong partnership between our agencies. I know firsthand the dedication and professionalism of the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office, and this incident is another example of what can be accomplished when neighboring agencies work together to keep our communities safe.
