We are a non-profit volunteer rescue squad, providing rescue services and backup EMS to all of Alexander County. Alexander Rescue Squad & EMS, Inc.

is a non-profit organization formed by volunteers who serve the citizens of Alexander County. The squad does have 2 full time employees who work during the day Monday thru Friday, and part time employees who work during the day on weekends. We serve a 263 square mile district with a population of approximately 37,000 people and operate out of 1 centrally located base.

Last night, members of Alexander Rescue Squad and EMS had the honor of celebrating the 2026 graduates of Alexander Central High School!

We would like to congratulate all graduates on this incredible accomplishment and wish each of you success as you begin the next chapter of life. Your hard work and dedication have paid off, and your futures are bright!

Kade, Hunter, and Coley graduated Friday night from Alexander Central High School. Wyatt Johnson graduated Monday night from Alexander Early College.

We are proud of each of you and thankful for the dedication and service you have already shown to our community. We look forward to seeing all you accomplish in the future.

Thanks to all who came out today to support our 10th annual Rescue Poker Run! Thanks to all our stop workers, our door prize donors and our members who always work there butts off. Thank the good Lord for no injuries and a good safe day and for the much needed rain. Looking forward to #11 on April 24, 2027. Until then ride safe!

Alexander Rescue Squad extends our deepest condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of Master Trooper Steven Perry who passed away in a line of duty event in Durham County last evening.

We stand alongside the North Carolina State Highway Patrol as they mourn the loss of a dedicated public servant.

We respectfully ask our community and followers to keep Master Trooper Perry's loved ones and his fellow troopers in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

📢 Alexander County will open an emergency shelter to support residents impacted by this weekend’s winter storm. The shelter will open on Sunday, January 25, at 9:00 a.m. in the JV gymnasium at Alexander Central High School (223 School Dr., Taylorsville). Food, water, and basic necessities will be provided.

Morning rescue history. From Alexander County in May 1983, these were the extrication tools of Alexander Rescue Squad & EMS, Inc. and before they bought their first Hurst tool. But they were seeking support to buy one.

Noted the Taylorsville Times on May 26, 1983, earlier that month, the squad was called to a one-car accident on Highway 90 east in Hiddenite. After arriving, they called for Iredell County Rescue Squad to assist, because the latter had a set of the hydraulic extrication tools. And without those "jaws of life," freeing the trapped patient "would have been almost impossible."

Squad members had outlined plans to purchase one, which cost about $8,750. And they sought support with the community to help raise money, and notably as they still owed some $13,000 on their ambulance.

The squad had 21 volunteer members plus "an auxiliary unit" and provided rescue service plus back-up ambulance service to Alexander County EMS.
