In honor of Grandparents Day, invite a grandparent or special older adult to share a favorite childhood memory, family story, or book they loved when they were young.

Parent Reading Tip: Help stories jump off the page.

When something in a book feels familiar, connect it to your child’s own experiences.

🍎 “Remember when we picked apples?”

🐶 “That dog looks like Grandma’s!”

Making these connections helps children understand what they’re reading and gives you even more to talk about together.
