Hope everyone is still staying warm! I know the roadways still have a long way to go, but I promise the road department is still working hard! These extremely cold temperatures are really halting the melting process even with salt.
Stay safe everyone!

County Services have been making preparations for this weekend weather. It’s important that we all make preparations now BEFORE the snow hits! I know we will all come together as a community to help each other out and that’s one of the most beautiful things about Spencer County and its people!

Everyone be safe this weekend!

This morning, county and city officials, along with volunteers from the flood wall commission, met to discuss the weather and develop a game plan. Our office, in conjunction with other first responders, will mobilize our resources over the course of the next few days in response to the incoming severe weather. For those living in low-lying areas of the county, make plans now and be prepared to evacuate to a safer location if necessary. Meteorologists are calling for rains this county has not seen in a long time.

The following locations will be available to take shelter for tonight's severe weather:

Little Mount Baptist Church, 6129 Little Mount Rd.; Little Union Baptist Church, 4620 Little Union Rd.; Mount Moriah Baptist Church, 12154 Mount Eden Rd.; First Baptist Church, W. Main Street, Taylorsville; and Ridgeview Ministries Center, 10 Dogwood Circle.

We will strive to keep everyone informed with live up-to-date information via Facebook Live. Remember, turn around, don't drown!

-Sheriff Andrew Ware.

Let’s all be prepared to not only keep our own families safe, but be prepared to come together as a community to help our neighbors. We are all in this together!!!
