TVPD is helping get the word out about Taylorsville’s updated parking ordinance. Our officers had some fun recording this cheerful PSA to show what changed, why it matters and what 30 feet looks like. Give it a watch ✅

🐕‍🦺🚓🐾 A huge thank you to TVPD’s K-9 Officers Wakefield and Cameron, along with Sgt. Bennett, for taking the time to showcase Koda and Turbo to all eight Taylorsville elementary schools before the end of the school year.

The fifth-grade students loved learning about the important role our K-9 teams play in keeping the community safe, and of course, seeing the dogs in action. Judging by the smiles, Koda and Turbo definitely stole the show!

Along with the fun of seeing the K-9s, these visits provide a meaningful way for TVPD to connect with Taylorsville students and build positive relationships in our schools and community. Thank you to the teachers and school staff for welcoming our officers, and best wishes to all the students for a safe and happy summer.

🚔🚒Joining the Unified Fire Authority, TVPD was proud to participate in the Taylorsville High School JROTC Army event, where students had the chance to explore careers in military service and public safety.

Students connected with military personnel, firefighters and police officers, asking questions and learning more about the training, commitment and opportunities these career paths offer. It was a great opportunity before the end of the school year to share insight, encourage students and highlight the many ways they can serve their community and country.

Thank you to Taylorsville High School JROTC for hosting such a meaningful event and including us!

🚲🛴 E-bikes and scooters are a fun way to get around, especially as more riders head outside for the season. To help everyone enjoy the ride safely, Utah’s new e-rides law is now in effect with updated rules for e-bikes, electric scooters and other electric mobility devices.

The law includes new helmet requirements, age restrictions and vehicle classifications to help riders and families better understand how to ride safely. TVPD hopes everyone can enjoy their ride while helping keep our roads, sidewalks and trails safe for all. Knowing what type of device you are using and where it can legally be ridden is a great place to start.

This Memorial Day, TVPD honors and remembers the brave men and women of the United States Armed Forces who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation.

Their courage, selflessness and dedication to protecting the freedoms we enjoy today will never be forgotten. We also extend our gratitude and support to the families who carry the weight of that sacrifice every day.

As we gather with family and friends this holiday weekend, we encourage everyone to take a moment to reflect on the true meaning of Memorial Day and remember those who gave everything for our country. From all of us at TVPD, we thank our fallen heroes and honor their legacy!

🚴‍♂️💙 More than 250 miles. One important mission. Three days on the road turned into added protection for TVPD officers this past month as Shield616 donated nine life-saving vest sets to the department. The rifle-rated vests are designed to help protect officers during high-velocity threats and active shooter situations.

The donation was made possible through last fall’s bicycle ride from St. Anthony, Idaho, to Salt Lake City completed by Chief Cottam and Officers Haas, Stone and Berg, along with generous community donations. From the long miles on the road to the recent vest presentation ceremony, the photos highlight the mission in action.

TVPD is incredibly grateful to everyone who donated, cheered on the riders and helped make this important contribution possible. Those who would like to help further the mission can donate at Shield 616 and note in the comments that the donation is for Taylorsville Police Department in Taylorsville, Utah: https://shield616.org/

💙 National Police Week is a time to honor the officers who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty and to recognize those who continue serving our communities with courage, dedication and compassion each day.

As agencies across the country observe National Police Week this next week, May 11–16, TVPD joins in remembering Utah’s fallen heroes and reflecting on the lasting impact of their service and sacrifice. This week is an opportunity to pause, remember and express gratitude to those who have given so much in service. 🚓 Future careers were on full display at the recent ChamberWest Job Fair at Taylorsville High, and TVPD was excited to be part of it!

With more than 85 different career paths represented, students and community members had the chance to explore opportunities, ask questions and connect with professionals from across the valley. Our officers loved meeting everyone who stopped by to learn more about law enforcement and community policing.

A big thank you to ChamberWest and Taylorsville High for hosting such a great event, and to everyone who came by our booth to chat with the team. We’re always grateful for opportunities to connect with the community!
